Call for Proposals: Conduct the 2025 SARB survey
The Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR) invites qualified service providers to submit proposals to conduct the 2025 South African Reconciliation Barometer (SARB) survey.
Since 2003, the IJR’s Research and Policy programme has conducted the SARB survey, a national representative public opinion survey that measures citizen attitudes towards reconciliation, transformation and national unity—making it the longest-running survey of its kind in the world.
Proposals are invited from qualified service providers with demonstrated experience of conducting nationally representative public opinions in South Africa
Scope of Work Includes:
- Reviewing the SARB questionnaire
- Designing and selecting a nationally representative sample
- Planning and implementing fieldwork across all nine provinces
- Conducting face-to-face interviews in multiple languages
- Returning a cleaned and weighted dataset to IJR
Proposals must include:
- Personnel details: Qualifications and experience of all senior and key personnel
- Experience: Detailed description of past survey experience
- Methodology: Proposed approaches for sampling, questionnaire translations, interview training, conducting of the pilot study, and fieldwork implementation and supervision
- Budget: A detailed cost breakdown
Proposals should be submitted to Kate Lefko-Everett using the subject line “SARB Survey Big” by 17:00 on Monday, 19 May 2025.
