Nivrata is a Project Officer in the Peacebuilding Interventions Programme. In this capacity, she spearheads the International Justice and Survivor-Centered Justice Project. Nivrata also contributes towards developing the Pan-African Reconciliation Network and the IJR Transitional Justice Fellowship Programme . She is an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Fellow in the Programme of the Study on the Humanities in Africa (Centre for Humanities Research, UWC). She holds a Masters Degree (cum laude) from the University of the Western Cape and was a scholar at the International Institute for Social Studies (The Hague, Netherlands). Nivrata works postcolonial citizenship, political violence, Great Lakes Region, international and survivor-centered justice and regional reconciliation.
