Mikhail is from Cape Town and holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree (majoring in Politics & Economic History) as well as an LLB. Both of which he obtained from the University of Cape Town.

Mikhail’s interest lie in the formation of strategies and policies to equip and empower those whom have been historically disadvantaged in the South African context.

Mikhail is also committed to the opening of institutions and spaces which have historically alienated marginalised groups within society, and transforming these institutions and spaces so that they are now rendered safe for all.

Mikhail identifies himself as an feminist ally and as such is committed to help eliminate patriarchy, particularly as it relates to the creation of toxic masculinity.
