Mathuto Mashego holds a Bachelor in Economics and International Trade from North West University which has provided a solid foundation to understand, critique and interrogate how governmental and non-governmental policies and decisions impact the economy.
She started off her career as a Technical advisory Intern at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) where she acquired skills in project advisory, external audit,  tax reform and reporting. She joined the IJR as a Fundraising Intern where she received an opportunity to grow to be a Fundraising Assistant.

She aspires to someday have an impact on social and economic development in South Africa as she has recently demonstrated in the learning platforms IJR provides her.
