Felicity grew up in Kwa-Zulu Natal and attended the University of Natal, Durban where she read for a BA degree in Law and Politics. This was followed by an Honours in Human Rights, Normative Theory and International Relations. In 2000 she moved to Cape Town to take up the position of Researcher at the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference Parliamentary Liaison Office. During this time she worked on a variety of pieces of legislation in Justice, Defense and Safety & Security. From there she moved to promoting democracy through dialogue at the Goedgedacht Forum for Social Reflection. During this time she developed a special interest in working in higher education and issues around the intergenerational transmission of trauma. Outside of work she is interested in volunteering on boards especially those with a human rights and developmental focus.
