Asafika is a public interest-orientated professional who has built both her academic and professional careers on her commitment to social justice. She holds two Master’s degrees in Public Policy and Public Administration respectively, from Peking University in China and the London School of Economics. Prior to her postgraduate training, she earned an undergraduate degree in Development Studies from the University of Cape Town. In recognition for her efforts towards addressing socio-economic injustice in disadvantaged communities, she was selected for the Young African Leaders Initiative and the South Africa-Washington International Programme which gave her the opportunity to participate in a 2-month internship at the World Affairs Council in Washington D.C.
She looks forward to furthering her work in the social justice space through her role as Project Officer at IJR.
