Adelaide has been born and raised on the Cape Flats and obtained her LLB at the University of the Western Cape. She is a legal professional with just over 10 years’ experience, including practicing as an attorney specialising in employment law, management consulting focussing on the water and transport sectors and public service with the City of Cape Town. She holds a certificate in commercial and workplace mediation from the University of Cape Town and believes that mediation should be the primary means of dispute resolution. In 2016, Adelaide participated in the Mandela Washington Fellowship for young African Leaders and is part of an African wide network of more than 2000 Africans.
After a year of standing still and reflecting on her professional journey, she has intentionally sought out opportunities to be part of processes that create spaces for South Africans to see each other and to hear each other. She cares deeply about moving South Africa forward, together and believes that IJR is an opportunity for her to be part of getting South Africa ‘unstuck’.
