Nosindiso Mtimkulu

Nosindiso Mtimkulu has worked closely with different levels of management, in different genres of the arts and with people from different backgrounds in South Africa for the past ten years. She is an artist and a cultural activist who believes that arts and culture have important roles to play in our society. She is passionate about promoting the potential that arts and culture have to bring people together and realises this through working with the youth in different communities. She has acquired a considerable range of practical skills, including project and programme planning; design; management; monitoring and evaluation; organisational development and change management; impact assessments and conducting/facilitating workshops and training sessions. Nosindiso also has vast experience in research, authoring, teaching and performance. She lectured at UCT: College of Music at undergraduate level for some years and also has sound research, analytical and writing skills. She has co-authored a series of books on Arts and Culture [Learners’ and Teachers’ Guides], as well as a number of articles and research reports. She has held a number of management and research positions in different companies and different art genres over the years. In the course of these jobs, she acquired many skills and learnt many lessons, including learning the hands-on way approach to arts and culture, including how to support, promote, strengthen and develop it.
