Stories op die Wind: 'n Handleiding vir opvoeders van Noord-Kaapse volksverhale
THE THIRD IN A SERIES OF EXCITING RESOURCE GUIDES: STORIES OP DIE WIND – ‘n Noord-Kaapse Erfenis (Stories that float on the Wind – A Northern Cape Heritage). This Resource Guide focuses on folk tales as an important element of intangible heritage of the Northern Cape and contains examples of different lesson plans to be used in the classroom. Learners from eight Northern Cape schools Kharkhams, F.J. Smit, Steinkopf, Namaqualand , Concordia, Okiep. Kakamas and Rietfontein were trained in Oral History Methodology and Techniques and Writing skills. They interviewed a number of story-tellers from their respective communities.
Selected teachers and learners from participating schools were also trained in the art of storytelling and story-writing. The Resource Guide was appropriately launched at a Storytelling Imbizo in the Kalahari.
