South African Reconciliation Barometers Survey: 2021 Report
The South African Reconciliation Barometer (SARB) is a nationally representative public opinion survey conducted by the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR) on issues of reconciliation, social cohesion and governance. The SARB is the longest-running public opinion survey of its kind anywhere in the world and this report is based off fieldwork conducted across the country between October and November 2021. The SARB report reflects South Africans understanding of reconciliation, their experience of the COVID-19 pandemic and their views on inter-personal trust, democratic political culture, national identity and the legacies of apartheid.
