Displaced: Black and Queer by Ncumisa Mdlokolo – Film Screening

Telling Gender stories through film

Displaced: Black and Queer by Ncumisa Mdlokolo

IJR invites you to a film screening of Displaced: Black and Queer by Ncumisa Mdlokolo, a film that explores the realities of trans* and queer lives and how those realities intersect with blackness in Africa. The film speaks to decolonisation, intersectionality, reclaiming space and interrogating the need to constantly having to defend the right to exist as black queers in Africa. This film screening and dialogue aims to challenge inherited gender norms while rightfully reinserting gender stories that exist on the spectrum.
